Mya's Journey - Feeling Free & Spinning In The Air With Aerial Fitness

When a friend suggested Altitude, I looked into some aerial hoop and silks routines online and was instantly captivated by the idea of being able to do something like that. After a mere few minutes in the studio, I was convinced and signed up 🤩 I began my aerials journey in August last year & haven’t looked back!

My first aerials class was a mix of nerves and excitement. Even though I had never attempted anything quite like aerials before. My instructor instantly put me at ease and her expert guidance made me feel like a pro! I vividly remember that freeing feeling of spinning in the air during my first flow - hitting those moves felt so good and I just wanted to learn more!

What I love about aerials is the combination of physical challenge and artistic expression. Learning different poses and sequences has allowed me to reconnect with my years of dance and rediscover my love of movement. Aerials allows me to push my limits, express myself artistically, and connect with a wonderful community of like-minded individuals ♥️

I've gained so much strength and confidence, both in my body's capabilities and in myself. It's amazing how much progress you can make when you believe in yourself, don’t let failure get you down and keep pushing your limits.

If I had a piece of advice for anyone starting out, it would be that everyone progresses at their own pace, so be patient with yourself and enjoy the process ☺️ Most importantly, have fun!!
